Mumming
These photos were taken on our tour of the pubs of Sherborne, Dorset, on Wednesday 19th December, 2001. We visited eight drinking establishements and raised £100 for a local hospital. We'd like to thank the landlords and staff of all the pubs and clubs for putting up with us, and all the customers who contributed to our collection.
Things to note in the pictures.
- Most of the characters wear their morris kit under their mummer's costume.
- Each costume is chosen by the wearer, there is no team discussion, let alone decision, about them.
- King George wears the team colours rather than the more usual red and white.
